About MMRI
Manatee Medical Research Institute was founded in 2011 by Alan Miller, MD and Amy Boucher, CCRC. Our Mission is to provide the latest clinical trial options in Urology to patients in the area. In the past few years the company has added Sean Castellucci, DO as a secondary investigator and grown in number of clinical trials we have been able to offer to our patients.

Alan Miller, MD, FACS
Sean Castellucci, DO
Dr. Miller, MD, FACS received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburg School of Medicine in 1989 on a Navy scholarship. He completed his general surgery internship at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. He then served for one year as a Battalion Surgeon for the 3rd Light Armored Infantry Battalion and Regimental Surgeon for the 3rd Marine Division in Okinawa, Japan, before going on to the Naval Hospital in San Diego and University of California at San Diego to complete his Urology training.
Dr. Miller came to Bradenton in 2003 after serving 15 years in the U.S. Navy. He was honorably discharged as Commander and served with the U.S. Marines during the first Gulf War.
Dr. Miller is the immediate past Chief of Staff at Manatee Memorial Hospital and was Chief or Surgery at both Lakewood Ranch Medical Center and Manatee Memorial Hospital. He currently serves on the Board of Governors for Manatee Memorial Hospital, the Florida Urological Society and the Manatee County Medical Society. Dr. Miller is passionate about clinical research. He is the founder, CEO and principle investigator for the Manatee Medical Research Institute, a highly regarded clinical research company headquartered in Bradenton. He is currently researching advanced prostate Cancer, advanced bladder cancer and all areas of voiding dysfunction.
Dr. Miller is an accomplished cryosurgeon and takes a special interest in learning minimally invasive techniques to treat urologic disease. He was the first in Bradenton to preform renal and prostate cryosurgery as well as Botox injections for the treatment of urinary incontinence. He also has extensive experience in preforming vasectomies and vasectomy reversals.
Dr. Miller has been recognized as the “Best Doctor in Urology” since 2012.
Dr. Castellucci earned his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. He completed his clinical internship at Mercy Catholic Medical Center and Hahnemann University Hospital. Prior to moving to Bradenton, he was Medical Director at the Urology Center of Columbus in Columbus, Ga.
Dr. Castellucci has been involved in research which has earned him both national and international recognition. His investigations have focused on new innovations in Urologic and Oncologic surgery including the first single port access laparoscopic Adrenalectomy preformed; as well as research in other fields of Urology including Prostate Cancer.
He has served as primary and sub-investigator with Manatee Medical Institute since August 2011.
Amy Boucher, CCRC
Amy earned her Bachelor of Science degree at King College in Bristol, TN. She entered the field of clinical research in 1999 focusing on trials in diabetes, cholesterol, hypertension, migraines, weight loss, and acne.
In 2002 she was designated a certified clinical research coordinator through the ACRP. The CCRC credential is designated to demonstrate proficiency of research knowledge and job-related skills, and passed the standardized ACRP CRC certification exam. The CCRC designation formally recognizes a CRC has met the professional standards set forth by the Academy of Clinical Research Professionals.
She started the research clinic at at a multi-physician OB/GYN clinic in 2005 and managed all aspects of the clinical research operations. In 2007 she moved to Florida and continued her research work focusing on studies related to Neurology. In 2010 she partnered with Dr. Allen Miller to form Manatee Research Institute conducting trials in the field of Urology. Currently Amy serves as site manager and oversees all aspects of operations.
